About Dawn M Garcia
Dawn earned a Bachelor's
degree in English and a minor in Psychology from The University
of Iowa. She also received an Associates degree in Liberal
Arts from Kirkwood Community College.
When her first child
was born, Dawn started her own business, Rugged Peak Design
- a freelance graphic and website design company. Alongside
her booming design business, Dawn was freelance writing
for numerous agency's and company's in the Fort Collins and
Denver area until they moved to rural Nebraska. She then picked
up writing and editing jobs with local newspapers and magazines.
Aside from freelancing, Dawn works as
the Let's Build Nebraska Project Coordinator
for the State of Nebraska Volunteer Commission. Exciting news
- www.letsbuildnebraska.org launched in June 2012. Let's Build
Nebraska is a free portal for nonprofits and volunteers contibuting
to a better life in our state.
Before moving
to the "City", Dawn owned an in-home
daycare and worked part-time at the public library.
Dawn lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with her
husband, three children, a spoiled yellow lab and an overweight
cat. She is also writing her second novel.
